FAQ

Should a seller be present at the inspection?

We don’t recommend you are present during the home inspection process. It can signal to a buyer that you’re concerned about what the inspector may find.

Can you be reimbursed for a home inspection from the seller?

Buyers are responsible for scheduling and paying for a residential home inspection if they so choose. Don’t expect to be reimbursed from the seller. If the inspector identifies any major problems and the buyer decides to withdraw their offer, the seller doesn’t have to reimburse the buyer for the inspection costs.

Can I Perform My Own Inspection?

Although a buyer is allowed to perform their own home inspection, it is not encouraged. Although you might think you’re saving some money, however  without extensive knowledge and experience in construction, electrical engineering and plumbing… you’re better off paying a licensed professional.

A licensed professional inspector can catch problems you are likely to miss, saving you potentially thousands down the road.
